URE has arrived at the Hockenheimring in Germany for her final race of the season. Yesterday we had time to prepare the car and in the afternoon we finished and completed e-Scrutineering. Today we had our static event day with the Design event, Cost event and Business Presentation. All events went very well. Unfortunately we weren't in the finals for the Business Presentation. From the 30 team we finished outside the top 5. Tomorrow we know how many points we received for all three static events. We also finished Scrutineering today. All five stickers have been collected now (e-scrutineering, technical inspection, rain test, brake test and tilt-table). This means we can compete in the dynamic events.
Tomorrow will be our first dynamic event. The skid pad. Stay posted and hopefully we can give you some scores tomorrow.

Due to problems with the electronics successful scutineering took place late in the afternoon, therefore we’ve missed the acceleration and skidpad. n=With only a half hour for attending on the autocross we had to move the car fast to the race track. We’ve eventually driven four laps in total, all happy that we've raced that day. Also the results from the static events were handed out. On these events we are placed 9th (cost event), 12th (business presentation and 11th on the design judging of the total of 30 teams. After a successful day we’ve had a barbeque.
Since we’ve got the result of the autocross that we are third overall the fourth day begins good! This is the last day of the event and today the endurance will take place. The checklist of the car is checked and the batteries are charged, we will be driving the endurance at 13.00

The first two days at the Red Bull ring
After a sunny trip to the Red bull ring in Austria we’ve set up our tents and the stand in one of the pit boxes. After working on the car and preparation for coming static events a healthy meal and a good night of sleep were welcome.
Day 2:
At 07.30 the drivers briefing took place, further on in the morning the cost event took place and the business presentation was held. A problem with the IMD causes that there’s a lot of work on the car. Good to see that we are not the only team working hard on the car. At 18.00 the design event will be held. From tomorrow the dynamic events will begin and the real racing will take place.

Sunday. D-day.
Today it's a big day for URE. It is time for the endurance. Approximately 20 km of racing on the Silverstone circuit, 2 drivers, 1 car. The moment we've been working for all year. Unfortunately we had to start early when it was still raining through which our lap times weren't the fastest of the day (since the weather conditions were variable).
The URE06 might not have been the fastest car on the track, but at least we finished the race! It's the first time in URE history a car manages to finish the endurance at Silverstone, the first race of the season.
Later that evening was the award ceremony. URE finally got a third plate overall, after the teams from Delft and Zürich, an unexpected good achievement!

Time for some racing...
Today we started of with the skidpad. In the pooring rain we managed to realize a fast time. After a total of 4 runs we had a time of 5,8 seconds.
The next event was an acceleration test. On a straight 75 metres lane we have to accelerate as fast as possible. We covered this distance in 4,96 seconds. In the second run we had exactly the same time (talking about some consisting driving). Generally we saw that the electrical teams were faster then teams with combustion engines!
The last event was the sprint. The times on the circuit are used for the qualification for the endurance tommorow (Just like F1 racing in fact). Unfortunattely there was a smal error that got us a rather slow time. But tomorrow URE will be driving at full capacity again to ensure an exciting competition!

Successful scrutineering
Today we continued with the rest of the scrutineering of the car. After yesterday’s electrical scrutineering, today mechanical scrutineering was up next. At 7 o’clock URE was the first team in line at this event. We successfully past a rain test, a noise test, a safety test, a brake test and a test at a specially designed tilt table. After passing all of these test we obtained to corresponding stickers on our car which means we're allowed to drive tomorrow.
